I started maintaining Nik Clayton's libtap, which he seems to have abandoned 
here:

2. Now disabling the thread-safety by default (in order to have it add
-DLIBTAP_ENABLE_BROKEN_THREAD_SAFE .

Bzr is slower than Subversion in combination with Sourceforge.
